In their own words
Chong Hwee Liang
Head of Procurement · Manufacturing, Singapore
The spend review gave us the first clear picture we have had in years of where our external spend actually sits. The fragmentation summary alone was worth the cost — we had no idea how many separate contracts we had for essentially the same category of work.

Operations Director · Professional Services, Singapore
We have been using the Sounding-Board for about eight months now. The calls have become a consistent part of how I prepare for internal stakeholder conversations about supplier decisions. Having someone external who understands the context, without being part of our organisation, is something I hadn't realised I was missing.

CFO · Logistics, Singapore
The consolidation workshop was well run. Our procurement and operations people had been going in circles on a few supplier decisions — the facilitated format moved things forward in a way that internal discussions had not. The written output was useful for presenting to our board. The one area I'd have liked more was some benchmark data, but I understand that's not what this service is.
March 2025 · Supplier Consolidation Workshop
Siti Aminah
Procurement Manager · Retail, Singapore
I commissioned the spend review when I was new to the role and needed to understand the current state of our supplier base quickly. The written categorisation document was exactly what I needed to have an informed conversation with my MD within the first month. Efficient process, clear output.

COO · Technology Services, Singapore
The Sounding-Board has been a consistent resource for our procurement lead for over a year. It functions exactly as described — two calls a month, written notes, no overhead. I've noticed the quality of supplier recommendations coming from our team has improved considerably since it began. Hard to attribute causality, but the timing is notable.

Finance Manager · Property, Singapore
We used the consolidation workshop after a period of rapid expansion had left our supplier list quite scattered. The format was professionally managed and the output document was usable — though we found ourselves wanting a slightly longer follow-up conversation after the day. That said, the written summary was a fair representation of where we landed.

CHALLENGE
Fragmented facilities spend, unclear total cost
A mid-sized manufacturing firm in Singapore had grown through acquisition and was managing facilities and maintenance through eleven separate supplier relationships — some overlapping, some redundant. The procurement team had no clear picture of total spend in this category.
WHAT WE DID
We ran a Spend Visibility Review against eighteen months of accounts payable data, followed by a Consolidation Workshop with the procurement and facilities teams.
The review identified that six of the eleven suppliers were performing effectively the same service category across different sites. The workshop produced a written position on which categories to consolidate and which to leave distributed.
OUTCOME
The written consolidation summary was used to begin renegotiation with three suppliers. The engagement closed within six weeks of first contact.
"We had been aware something was off in our supplier structure for two years. This made it concrete enough to act on." — Procurement Lead

CHALLENGE
Procurement lead navigating difficult internal dynamics
A procurement lead at a professional services firm was working through a series of supplier decisions that were complicated by internal advocates for different vendors. She had the expertise to know what the right decisions were but needed a steady external reference point.
WHAT WE DID
We began a monthly Sounding-Board arrangement. Over ten months, we worked through five significant supplier decisions, three internal stakeholder situations, and one contract renegotiation. Written notes after each call provided documentation she could reference when challenged internally.
OUTCOME
The written call notes became a reference document for her internal recommendations. She described the arrangement as providing a consistent external check on her thinking in a role where that had previously been absent.
"The value is in having someone who knows my context but doesn't have an agenda inside the organisation." — Procurement Lead
